Battlefield - Fighting in the Battlefield

Keywords: Battlefield, HOMM

There are two factors you have to learn when starting a quest: the strategic mode and tactical mode. Here we go!

The Strategic Mode

When entering the map, you are in the strategic mode. If you are outline accidently and login in 5 minutes, you can still go on with this quest.

This is an online game that combines the classic elements of HoMM III with its unique strategy to present a wonderful gamplay.

You can move and run booth like any other MMOs in the main city, the different is the battlefield and fight: you need to eliminate enemies to gather resources and level up. When you are in a quest, you cannot get through the hills and trees unless you have the ability to fly (activated by a special spell or treasure). And you will also be jammed by monsters or NPCs, you need to clear them to get through. In the quest map, you can visit NPC and structure to get some bonus.

There are 5 elements you should know:

  1. 1. March. Choose the place you want to go, and you will notice the way to your designation. Click the place again to confirm.
  2. 2. End Turn. You have limited movements in one turn, when they are done, the system will inform you to end the turn and start a new one. In multiplayer quest, everyone's turn is counted separately, that means you don't need to wait all players end their turns to start your new turn.
  3. 3. Retreat. If you want to quit, click here.
  4. 4. Mini Map. A brief view of the quest map. You can find you, players and some monsters location there. Except the ignitions, you can always find your goal by dragging the mini map.
  5. 5. You can right click the monster troop to learn their amount.

You can find some resources (gold, wood, mercury or others) or structures defending by monsters, which means if you want to retrieve or get in, you need to fight. There are several structures that have different effects: resource bonus, attribute bonus, spell learning and so on.

When you move your mouse icon onto one monster troop, the icon will turn into a sword, confirm your movement will lead you into a fight.

Tactical Mode

Look at the picture, it is obvious that you are playing a turn based fight.

The battlefield is composed of 15*15 hexagons. In one turn, the creature with the highest speed move first, and all creatures have one chance to act, whatever moving, attacking, defending and waiting. If you don't know want to do, you can wait, and you still can act later in this turn, except waiting. When all creatures' rounds are over, this turn comes to an end.

Let's look for the details of the picture

  1. 1. This is your hero. You have one chance to craft a spell every turn. But the hero cannot survive without creatures, if all creatures are dead, you lose.
  2. 2. Creatures on your hero's side are your troops. They can be divided into 3 types: melee, ranged, flying. Melee creatures need to move near the target to attack, and they also need to walk away from the obstacle, while the flying creatures can fly through it. The ranged creatures can attack enemy in a distance. But if the target is away from its effective range, the damage will reduce to the half. In the meantime, most ranged creatures' melee damage will be folded.

The highlighted troop is the one on its action, the yellow grips indicate the range this troop can move. If you move your mouse icon on your enemy troops, you can also find your enemy's movement range with the red color.

Click the place you want to move, if there is an enemy troop nearby, your icon will become a sword, then you can left click to attack or just stand there. General speaking, every troop has one chance to launch a counterattack. So, you know what I mean.

If you want to see the attributes and spell(s) bound of one troop, move your icon on the troop.
