Skill Points Intro

Keywords: Skill Points Intro, Magic, HOMM

Skills boost heroes' powers and allow for various tactical maneuvers in combat. In Heroes of Might and Magic Online, the classic skill point system from Heroes of Might and Magic Ⅲ has been recreated with enhanced features. To sum up, there are three questions to answer.

  1. How can I bring up the Skill page?
  2. How many Skill Points can I get?
  3. How can I use my Skill Points?

How can I bring up the Skill page?

Click the Skill button on the bottom left column in the game screen and you'll bring up the Skill page.

How many Skill Points can I get?

Players get 5 Skill Points at the start of the game, and will receive 5 Skill Points for every level they gain.

How can I use my Skill Points?

When you have some Skill Points, click the skill icons on the skill page to allocate them so as to learn new skills or upgrade existing ones. If you are not satisfied with your current point allocation, click Reallocate and Plus and Minus signs will appear near each skill button, then you can click to edit you point allocation. It's free to edit your skill allocation before level 50, but it'll cost some Erathium after level 50.

It takes different numbers of skill points for heroes of different classes to learn or upgrade the same skill, and the number it takes to learn different skills also varies from faction to faction.

It is advisable that players upgrade the Learning skill as early as possible to gain more EXP at the beginning of the game; and the level of the Scholar skill determines if you can learn higher-level spells or not, so it is also important to upgrade it from time to time.

About Combat Skills
If most of your units are shooters, upgrade the Archery skill to increase the damage your units can deal in ranged attacks. The Offense skill increases the damage your units can deal in melee attacks, and the Armorer skill increases your units' defense. They are all quite important.

About Spells

Spell skills can enhance spell power and reduce Mana cost. Upgrade the Earth Magic skill if you mainly use Earth spells like Slow or Magic Arrow. The Air magic skill, the Fire Magic skill, and the Water Magic skill also enhance the spells of their respective schools.

About Support Skills

As mentioned before, the Learning skill increases the EXP a hero can receive from combat. Most of the other Support skills make it easier for heroes to adventure in strategic mode, and the Necromancy skill ensures a constant supply of Skeleton Warriors for Necromancers.
